Armenian Letter-Art Inscribed in UNESCO’s List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

«Ճանաչել զիմաստութիւն եւ զխրատ, իմանալ զբանս հանճարոյ» (To know wisdom and instruction, to understand the words of insight) — this sentence from the Proverbs of Solomon was the first sentence written in the Armenian alphabet. From the official Facebook page of the Armenian National Commission for UNESCO, we learn that Armenian letter-art and its cultural expressions have been included in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Since 1992, Armenia has been a member of UNESCO, and for the first time has presented its candidacy to join UNESCO’s Executive Board for the period 2021-2025.
