European Council President Charles Michel addressed on Twitter the telephone communication he had with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday.
He stated: “I spoke with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to continue our recent discussions in Brussels. Full support to him and to all efforts aimed at supporting a peaceful, stable and secure South Caucasus.”
The telephone communication between Pashinyan and Michel took place on Monday, 18 April. They exchanged views on the process of implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting of the European Council President, the Armenian Prime Minister and the President of Azerbaijan held in Brussels on 6 April, the situation created in the region, and a number of issues on the Armenia-European Union relations agenda.
Pashinyan and Michel also discussed the process of implementation of the agreement to allocate 2.6 billion euros to Armenia within the framework of the European Union’s Eastern Partnership economic and investment programme, and stressed the importance of the effective implementation of the projects envisaged by the investment package.
Charles Michel reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to fully implement the investment programme envisaged for Armenia and stressed the importance of starting the practical implementation phase of the programmes as soon as possible.
