The Armenian government will soon provide 150 billion drams in support to the economy. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during an interview with the “Shant” television station.
“We must support our economy. In the near future, the government will provide at least 150 billion drams in support to the economy. We have prepared a package that can practically be implemented within a few days. We will allocate 25 billion drams for the program whereby companies that take loans from Armenian banks in dram terms to pay their employees’ salaries and for other matters — the government will co-finance 50 percent of that loan at 0 percent interest, and the bank’s portion of the interest will be given as a subsidy,” he noted.
The Prime Minister stated that the government has set itself a serious task of also providing support to agriculture. “We have set the task of giving agricultural loans as subsidies until they reach 0 percent interest,” the Prime Minister noted.
Pashinyan added that a 30 billion dram package will be prepared for urgent social support, and an 80 billion dram package for those organizations working toward preparing Armenia for the new world.
