The leader of Turkey’s Nationalist Movement Party (the political wing of the Gray Wolves), Devlet Bahceli, has announced the construction of a school in Shushi that will provide education in a nationalist spirit.
According to the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, Devlet Bahceli, speaking before the party’s parliamentary group, stated that both President Erdogan and President Aliyev have approved his proposal to build a school in Shushi.
He stressed that construction work on the school, which will provide education in a nationalist spirit, will begin on 30 January 2021. The school will bear the name of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the author of Azerbaijan’s anthem (Hajibeyli was born in the village of Baghamej, which during Tsarist Russia was in the Shushi district).
