A meeting between the head of the Security Council office, Hayk Petrosyan, and CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, who is on a working visit to Armenia, took place at the office of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the latest developments around it, and the possibilities of using the mechanisms available within the CSTO framework in the process of peaceful settlement of the situation were discussed.
The interlocutors also touched upon the coordination of draft documents to be discussed at the meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of CSTO Security Councils to be held in Tajikistan in September 2021, as well as the process of preparing the priorities of Armenia’s upcoming presidency in the organisation.
Armenia is to assume the CSTO presidency on 16 September this year.
Within the framework of Zas’s visit to Armenia, meetings are also planned with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the head of the defence department.
