Health of 4-Month-Old Child in Artsakh Continues to Remain Critical

Because of the blockade of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia by Azerbaijan, scheduled surgeries continue to be suspended in medical institutions operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh. Because of the blockade of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia by Azerbaijan, scheduled surgeries continue to be suspended in medical institutions operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh.

At the “Arevik” medical association, 13 children are in the intensive care and neonatal units. The health condition of a 4-month-old infant among them, who was diagnosed with “visceral leishmaniasis,” continues to remain critical. At the “Republican Medical Center,” 9 patients are in the intensive care unit, 2 of whom are in extremely critical condition; doctors are doing everything possible to stabilize the patients’ condition.

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh is taking all possible measures to properly overcome the situation created by the blockade.
