A private meeting between Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and newly elected President of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan took place in Stepanakert.
“Mr. Prime Minister, first of all I want to thank you for your participation in the inauguration ceremony and for the words and thoughts you expressed. They were the sincere words of a country’s leader, and I view all of this within the realm of concern and counsel, and I want to declare today as well that I am ready to share the burden and the problems that today stand before the Armenian people, before the Armenian world. Thank you for your participation,” said Arayik Harutyunyan.
“Thank you, Mr. President. First, allow me to once again congratulate you on being elected President of the Republic of Artsakh and on your inauguration. Yesterday truly impressive inauguration events took place, impressive first and foremost in terms of content. As we were walking here, I said that a very good atmosphere has been established in Artsakh, and I think our task is to keep this atmosphere at this level and to develop it further. And of course, I consider it very important that effective cooperation takes place between the authorities of Armenia and Artsakh; all the necessary preconditions exist for that. I am convinced it will be so,” Prime Minister Pashinyan said in turn.
“I am unequivocally in agreement, Mr. Prime Minister. I view our society as one whole; there is no people of Armenia, no people of Artsakh, there is the Armenian people, and proceeding from that principle we must maintain the atmosphere and develop it. The preconditions that have been created today in Artsakh, not only morally and psychologically but also in terms of economic development, social programs, and repatriation, everything can be accomplished through joint work. Again, I thank you, Mr. Prime Minister,” concluded the newly elected President of Artsakh.
Afterwards, Nikol Pashinyan and Arayik Harutyunyan continued the meeting with the participation of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Artsakh, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Masis Mayilyan.
