The German periodical Deutsche Welle has touched upon the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In the published article, it was noted that the ceasefire reached in 2020 is fragile, and civilians fear an escalation of the situation by Azerbaijan.
Markus Ritter, head of the European Union mission deployed on the Armenian side of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, noted that many Armenians have welcomed the deployment of the mission with joy, but the Azerbaijani side has not allowed their observers to enter Azerbaijani territory, so they cannot notice, for example, the movement of troops while preparing for another attack.
“Many Armenians believe that there will be an attack by Azerbaijan in the spring. If that does not happen, it will mean that our mission has already succeeded,” he said.
