RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has addressed the domestic political situation in Armenia, stating that he will do everything to ensure that the people do not lose the opportunity to have their say. Pashinyan wrote this on his Facebook page.
“The description of the political situation established in the country is as follows:
1. The “elite” (upper class) deprived of power in Armenia as a result of the 2018 revolution is attempting to achieve revenge. Moreover, this is not at all only about the political “elite,” but about all those who had privileges until 2018 and no longer have them after 2018.
2. The people, who after the 2018 revolution felt the circumstance of being the authority, do not want to lose that status, especially now, when, taking advantage of the fact that the authorities are more focused on serving external security issues, some have put into effect the logic of ‘if you do not come to the rally, you will be fired from your job'”— wrote Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister noted that the real contradiction is not between the government and the opposition, but between the “elite” deprived of privileges in 2018 and the people.
“But in all cases, the decisive word must be said by the people, because if the people have their say, the ‘elites’ can do nothing. I, of course, will do everything so that the people do not lose the opportunity to have their say and say that word. But at this moment, for us, the priority is ensuring the external security of Armenia and Artsakh, and in the aforementioned actions, external security must in no way be called into question,” noted the Prime Minister.
