We are facing a rather serious issue at this moment, and the reason for that issue is that perhaps all of us are not treating the coronavirus with sufficient seriousness, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared during a Facebook live broadcast.
“Each of us must show particular political and civic responsibility,” the Prime Minister noted, informing that if we do not break this trend, on May 29 we will have 10,000 cases, and on June 12 20,000 cases, which means that the number of deaths will increase significantly, because intensive care units will be completely full of patients, and they will not be able to provide help to people.
“If we do not break this statistic, do not change the trend, if we do not sharply lower this statistic, then we will truly face very serious issues, and every day dozens, perhaps even hundreds of people will die among us. Which means that we will be forced to reintroduce the strictest possible restrictions. But we have the opportunity not to do that, and the way not to do that is again the individual responsibility of each of us,” the head of the executive noted.
The latter stressed that in these days he has also encountered people on the streets who walk and talk without masks, without maintaining social distance, and called for wearing masks, maintaining social distance, disinfecting, and using disinfected utensils.
Nikol Pashinyan emphasised that one must not enter public transport and public vehicles without a mask: “We will apply serious measures, we will fine and collect the fines, because this is a matter of national security and of observing the rules.”
Let us recall that in Armenia over the course of the previous day, the number of coronavirus cases increased by 218, reaching 5,041.
