Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that a trilateral conversation took place within the framework of the informal CIS summit between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev:
“We started the conversation with you yesterday, and we managed to speak among the three of us. Of course, the main issue is the regulation of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and, in general, the situation in the South Caucasus, everything connected with Karabakh. As we agreed, we will discuss all these details,” Putin said during a bilateral meeting with the Armenian Prime Minister.
The Russian President also spoke about Armenian-Russian cooperation in the economic sphere. “The 73 percent growth in trade turnover over the 10 months of the current year is a good result,” he said.
It should be noted that yesterday, on 26 December, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in the informal summit of the heads of CIS member states in St. Petersburg.
Also participating in the summit were Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, issues related to the development of cooperation within the CIS territory were discussed.
Before the start of the summit, a photo and video session of the meeting participants took place, after which Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed those present.
The summit concluded with a working dinner of the CIS heads of state.
