The private meeting between Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took place in St. Petersburg.
During the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister of Armenia said that “now it turns out that the Lachin corridor is not under the control of the Russian peacekeepers.”
At the start of the meeting, the Russian President said that the main issue now is the settlement of the situation in Karabakh.
“At this moment, the main, most urgent problem is the crisis we have in the Lachin corridor. You know that the Lachin corridor has been blocked for almost 20 days. That is the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.
I want to remind that, according to the trilateral statement of the President of Russia, the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia, the Lachin corridor must be under the control of the Russian peacekeepers, and the Republic of Azerbaijan has guaranteed the unimpeded movement of passengers and cargo through the Lachin corridor.
Now it turns out that the Lachin corridor is not under the control of the Russian peacekeepers. Of course, I would like to discuss this situation, what options there are,” Pashinyan said at the beginning of the meeting.
