From April 22 to 25, a delegation led by the head of France’s Senate, Bruno Retailleau, is in Armenia to participate in events dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. The members of the delegation have traveled to the village of Teg, where a shootout took place on April 11. 1lurer.am reported.
“We have come to demand from Azerbaijan the immediate lifting of the blockade of the Lachin corridor, to free the 120,000 Armenians who find themselves in terrible conditions in Nagorno-Karabakh, and we are also here to demand the restoration of the connection between Artsakh and Armenia.
What is the point of commemorating the victims of 1915 if we are to close our eyes to the ethnic and religious cleansing taking place in Nagorno-Karabakh,” Retailleau declared during a press conference in Teg.
He noted that there is a danger that the installation of a new control checkpoint on the Hakari bridge, located in the zone of responsibility of Russian peacekeepers near the entrance of the new road leading to Artsakh, could mark the start of a new large-scale operation that would lead to the permanent closure of the Lachin corridor.
