Under the organization of the Tekeyan Cultural Association of Aleppo, on Saturday, April 9, 2022, the traditional inter-school recitation competition took place in the hall of the “Yekavian Library.”
On this occasion, a communiqué was published on the association’s Facebook page, which we present below.-
The primary goal of the Tekeyan Cultural Association has been and remains the preservation and development of Armenian culture and the Armenian language. The traditions formed over the years attest to this.
Within this framework, the recitation competition serves as the best stimulus for connecting the Armenian student’s heart and soul with Armenian literature.
Especially under the current difficult conditions, with the support of Mr. Zaven Yekavian, and in cooperation with the administrations and teachers of Armenian schools, the inter-school recitation competition was an opportunity once again to encourage the Armenian students of Aleppo to cherish their mother tongue. On Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., the inter-school recitation competition took place in the hall of the Tekeyan Cultural Association’s “Yekavian Library,” in the presence of students, teachers, and parents.
The opening speech was delivered by the association’s chairman, Dr. Harutyun Nazaryan. He highly commended the contribution of the teachers, in particular, to the success of this event.
The students performed with great enthusiasm and fervor.
First place was taken by Arpi Krtanyan (Krtasirats Sargis Chemberjian School),
Second place by Arina Poskhezenyan (Karen Yeppe National Lyceum),
And third place by Lori Matosyan (L. Najarian G. Gulbenkian School).
At the end, special certificates of appreciation were given to the members of the jury, and material prizes to all participants and winners.
Well done to you all.
