On the evening of Friday, January 27, 2023, at the ADL office in Altadena, representatives of the leadership of the SDHP, the ARF and the ADL of Western America held a meeting of more than two hours, during which the increasingly alarming situation of the Armenians of Artsakh and the issues agitating our local national life were discussed. Participating in the meeting from the SDHP were Vazken Khotanyan (chairman) and Mihran Khachaturyan, from the ARF: Taron Ter Khachaturyan (chairman) and Garegin Khanjyan, from the ADL: Dr. Raffi Balyan (chairman) and Garo Kupelyan.
Emphasis was placed on pursuing our national cause without flinching, as well as on continuing our statehood and independence with the greatest exertion of forces and purposeful work. The Armenian-genocidal policy of Turkey and its partner Azerbaijan remains present even today. We must express our immediate support in favor of the Armenians of Artsakh by raising the crisis at local, state and federal levels and demanding that the United States show urgent intervention toward the reopening of the Berdzor corridor. During the meeting, it was decided to give new impetus, in accordance with the tradition established in previous years and with united efforts, to the organization of the April commemorations of 2023 by the community structures (AGC, UACLA). Other national agendas are also planned to be carried forward through the joint efforts of the three parties.
The Armenian nation and the homeland are in an existential struggle. It is the duty of all of us to serve the homeland and the Armenian nation in united ranks. Thus, our call is for all of you to rally around our national and union structures, to refrain from partisan accounts, to prefer the national and our rights, and to bring your participation in favor of the nation’s security and well-being.
