On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Artsakh War, the ADL Jerusalem Regional Board and the Armenian Youth Association issued a joint call, which we present below.-
Dear children of the Armenian nation,
Today, 27 September 2021, marks the first anniversary of the second Artsakh War.
A year ago, the population of Artsakh was subjected to attack by Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan, disregarding and violating all internationally accepted laws, continued its attack, violating the peace of the Republic of Artsakh.
This terrible and cruel war lasted 44 days, during which our soldiers bravely defended our borders and dedicated their lives to the sacred soil of the homeland.
Today, a year later, we mourn their loss on earth with deep sorrow, fully aware that they are immortal, because they sacrificed their lives for the fatherland — they died so that the Armenian people and our homeland may live and flourish.
We must also remember all our prisoners, who are currently unlawfully held in Azerbaijan, and spare no effort for their earliest release and return to the homeland.
Dear Armenian people,
Our homeland faces numerous challenges and difficulties; now is the time to be vigilant, the time to unite, the time to rally together for the strength and survival of our Homeland.
The Jerusalem ADL Eugene Babayan Club and the Armenian Youth Association call upon all to preserve national unity and solidarity at all costs, to support the recovery of the Artsakh people. For us, in these days, standing by our powerful army and heroic soldier with unwavering devotion, supporting them, and working together for the survival and betterment of our nation must be our priority.
Blessed be the memory of our martyrs. May God Almighty grant consolation to all those who lost their loved ones. As a nation, we mourn our great loss and pledge to continue the sacred dream of our martyrs — to stand by the homeland as one nation and to hold firm to our ancestral land.
