Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has signed a decree relieving Krikor Khachaturov of his post as commander of the 3rd Army Corps. This was announced on the president’s official website.
“Based on Article 133, Part 1 of the Constitution, as well as Article 40, Part 1, Point 11 of the Law on ‘Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel,’ Krikor Khachaturov is to be relieved of the post of commander of the 3rd Army Corps,” the decree states.
It should be noted that Khachaturov had held this post since 7 July 2016, for a term of five years. It appears that after the term expired, his contract was not renewed.
