The issue of the status of Mountainous Karabakh must be agreed upon with the participation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, but for now attention should be focused on the return to peaceful life in the region. This was stated by Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, TASS reports.
“I understand that now many are talking about the fact that the status of Nagorno-Karabakh remains unresolved. The issue of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh must be agreed upon with the participation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, who at this point should support the strengthening of confidence-building measures and the resolution of humanitarian issues, so that Armenians and Azerbaijanis can again live together in conditions of security and economic prosperity. And then, I assure you, in 2-3 years all the problems of status will be resolved more easily,” Lavrov said.
