The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is just emerging from its acute phase. This was stated on Monday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, as he opened a round of negotiations with Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan.
“We are just emerging from the acute phase of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. I would like to note the importance of the joint statement signed on 9 November by the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, which today everyone is compelled to acknowledge. It made it possible to stop the war and also to ensure the return of refugees to their homes,” Lavrov said.
