The “Saint Gregory the Illuminator” Medical Center has already opened its doors in a renovated state, equipped with new facilities. Acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan said this today during a conversation with journalists, at the opening of the diagnostic department of the “Saint Gregory the Illuminator” Medical Center.
“This medical center is to be at the center of our attention, and the entire complex, which consists of a maternity hospital and a polyclinic, must be brought to this level,” said Avanesyan.
The minister touched upon the coronavirus and the situation in Armenia caused by the pandemic, and emphasized that an increase in numbers has been recorded.
“We are recording the increase, which is not sharp, and we realize that in autumn we will have a new wave of infection. As for the Delta strain, at this moment we do not have the strains, but we believe that it is circulating in Armenia, since we have open borders,” noted the minister.
She also touched upon vaccinations against the coronavirus and noted that work is underway to obtain a batch of new vaccines.
“We have devised an interesting toolkit to raise the vaccination rate, and we have turned our attention toward culture — soon those who get vaccinated will, through a lottery, receive tickets to theaters and operas,” she emphasized.
