Armenia and Azerbaijan have recorded significant progress in negotiations over the past several months. This was stated by Ned Price, spokesperson for the United States Department of State, conveying during Wednesday’s press briefing the view of Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who had initiated negotiations between the leaders of the two countries within the framework of the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.
“This is the result of the parties’ engagement. This is the result of bilateral engagement with the United States, trilateral engagement with the United States, as well as the work that the European Union has done through its diplomatic efforts, and what we hope to see when the parties meet in Brussels in the coming days in negotiations hosted by EU President Michel,” Price said.
“So, we hope to see the continuation of that progress. We are not overly optimistic, but we will continue to support this dialogue, this diplomacy in every way possible to reach a comprehensive solution,” the US Department of State spokesperson stated.
