Baku openly calls for the destruction of Armenian values in the occupied territories. This was stated by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, Vahram Dumanyan, during a conference titled “Artsakh’s Endangered Heritage: Addressing the Challenges.”
He explained that Baku thus disregards the moral and legal standards that the civilized world has developed over many years. “Our historical experience of struggle for our values is great, from the invasions of nomadic tribes to the destruction of unique khachkars in Old Jugha and Karabakh. Today we are again facing a serious threat of a similar nature,” added Dumanyan.
He noted that it is difficult to speak about the preservation of culture with a state that openly calls for the destruction of Armenian culture.
Dumanyan added that the organized conference is aimed at raising public awareness, analyzing the issues, as well as work on ensuring the physical and informational security of cultural heritage.
