On September 28, Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan received the delegation headed by Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, President of the France-Armenia Friendship Group of the French Senate.
The Minister welcomed the visit of the French senators’ delegation to Armenia, appreciating the Franco-Armenian friendship and the continued solidarity demonstrated.
The interlocutors discussed a number of issues related to bilateral relations. Mirzoyan presented to the French senators the situation created by Azerbaijan’s armed attack on Armenia’s sovereign territory, highly appreciating the French side’s targeted assessments and principled position.
The Minister stated that Azerbaijan’s expansionist policy and attempts to solve problems through force or the threat of force are unacceptable and must be condemned by the international community. He emphasized France’s important role in the process of establishing peace in the South Caucasus, particularly within the framework of the co-chairmanship of the Minsk Group.
Minister Mirzoyan also highly praised the activities of the France-Armenia Friendship Group in protecting the rights of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Armenians of Artsakh in the Senate.
On the same day, Prime Minister Pashinyan also received the French delegation.
