The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has presented details regarding the meeting in Moscow between Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The Armenian Foreign Ministry issued a statement regarding the meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Russia.
“As a continuation of the telephone conversations of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan and the work carried out through Russia’s mediation aimed at halting military operations in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, on October 21, a meeting took place in Moscow between Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
During the meeting, the agenda included issues related to the situation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the implementation of agreements on the cessation of fire.
Highly assessing the direct efforts of Russia and President Putin in achieving agreements on the cessation of fire, Minister Mnatsakanyan stated that the agreements reached remain on paper as a consequence of Azerbaijan’s perfidious stance and steps aimed at destabilizing the situation.
Reaffirming Armenia’s commitment to the obligations undertaken under the joint Moscow statement of October 10 on the cessation of fire and the statement of October 17, Minister Mnatsakanyan, as a priority goal, emphasized the establishment of a stable ceasefire maintained by credible mechanisms,” the statement said.
