More than 30 American senators have joined the initiative of 75 members of the House of Representatives to increase funding for Artsakh in 2021; the funds are proposed to be directed toward demining and necessary rehabilitation services. This was announced by the Armenian National Committee of America.
In the letter circulated by Senator Robert Menendez, a call is made to the bipartisan leadership of the Appropriations Committee to allocate at least $1.5 million in 2021 for American humanitarian programs in Artsakh. The letter also contains a request regarding the funding of territorial rehabilitation services in Nagorno-Karabakh, for those who have suffered from landmines, as well as for persons with physical and cognitive disabilities.
