Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and members of his family have been infected with the new type of coronavirus; their test results have come back positive. The Prime Minister announced this during a live broadcast on his Facebook page.
“Yesterday it was established that my test for the coronavirus is positive. I want to say that I have not had any symptoms. There was a plan to go to the front line; I decided to get tested, and it was positive, after which my entire family was also tested — we are all infected with the coronavirus. We have no symptoms. During the past month, when reporting to work every day, as is the rule, I have been checked with a thermometer and have not had a fever,” stated Prime Minister Pashinyan.
Speaking about the infection, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia notes that it is obvious that the family members were infected by him. He notes that he has an idea of how he was infected.
“I was infected during one of the working consultations. An incident was recorded that left an impression on me. During consultations, cups of water are placed, and one day I noted that those cups were being placed without gloves. I made an on-the-spot remark and suggested changing that, but I assume that before that as well the same was the case, and that server has also been confirmed to have the coronavirus,” stated the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister is convinced that at least in the Government, no one has been infected by him, or as few people as possible have been infected.
“I will continue to work from the Prime Minister’s residence. I have all means of communication, all other necessary conditions, and an office. I will work from here as long as necessary, of course, under conditions of isolation. Our strategy and tactics remain the same; we must learn to live with the coronavirus. The situation is the same for all of us — we have no fever or symptoms, but we must monitor, because those symptoms may appear at any moment. Our concern is that we do not infect our grandparents, that we do not become a source of mediated infection,” notes Prime Minister Pashinyan, urging citizens to always wear masks, as well as to regularly disinfect their hands.
