There is still no final decision on the operation of the Amulsar mine. “Discussions on this issue are continuing. The relevant bodies will address the matter in the near future. At the Prime Minister’s instruction, the Ministry of Environment has prepared its approaches regarding the new EIA,” said Karapetyan.

In response to the observation that it is not clear from the announcement whether there is a need for a new EIA or not, Karapetyan said: “The reason is that there is no final decision and no final understanding. When the discussions are finalised, we will announce it.”
