The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia has denied the news spread by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan that the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia had opened fire in the direction of Nakhichevan.
This was stated in a conversation with Armenpress by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
“This is Azerbaijan’s latest delusion,” noted the RA Ministry of Defense.
Later, the Ministry of Defense issued a statement in which it was said: “The statement of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan regarding the wounding of an Azerbaijani serviceman as a result of gunfire allegedly opened from the Armenian side is yet another blatant lie. The armed forces of the Republic of Armenia have not opened fire in the direction of Nakhichevan. In all likelihood, the causes of the wounding of the Azerbaijani serviceman should be sought in the qualities of interpersonal relations among the servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan and in issues related to discipline.”
The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan had issued a report claiming that the positions of Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces in the direction of Nakhichevan had been shelled by the RA Armed Forces, as a result of which an Azerbaijani serviceman had been wounded.
