NSS Arrests 2 Indian Citizens Accused of Terrorism — Both Detained

The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, within the scope of its work directed against crime and international terrorism, has identified 2 citizens of India who were wanted for the commission of terrorism. In particular, on 8 August 2019, the aforementioned individuals arrived in Yerevan on an Istanbul-Yerevan flight. On the same day, hours after receiving the Interpol international wanted notice, as a result of investigative measures undertaken by NSS officers, one of the aforementioned Indian citizens was identified and arrested. The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, within the scope of its work directed against crime and international terrorism, has identified 2 citizens of India who were wanted for the commission of terrorism.

In particular, on 8 August 2019, the aforementioned individuals arrived in Yerevan on an Istanbul-Yerevan flight. On the same day, hours after receiving the Interpol international wanted notice, as a result of investigative measures undertaken by NSS officers, one of the aforementioned Indian citizens was identified and arrested. It was established that he is accused under various articles of India’s criminal code for having committed a series of serious crimes (including terrorism, murders). His companion, who is likewise wanted by India’s law enforcement bodies for the commission of terrorism, murder and other crimes, was also identified and arrested on 14 August while attempting to cross the Bagratashen border checkpoint.

The two Indian citizens have been detained.
