The Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party announces with deep sorrow the death of one of the leading members of the Damascus chapter, the faithful Comrade Kevork Keonjian (born 1945), which occurred on Tuesday, March 9, in Damascus.
A respected comrade has passed away. The role of Comrade Keonjian in the communal and organizational life of Damascus was great and invaluable.
The deceased comrade, as long-time chairman of the ADL Damascus Regional Board, had a fruitful party and organizational activity within his chapter. As an ADL representative, he was part of various inter-communal and national bodies. He was known for his devotion and patriotism, and enjoyed great respect thanks to his noble character and good reputation.
Throughout Syria’s brutal war, Comrade Keonjian resolutely continued his mission as a faithful party member within the Damascus community, inspiring hope and courage in the comrades around him.
The requiem and funeral service of the deceased will take place on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 2:30 PM, at St. Sarkis Church in Damascus.
The memory of a comrade faithfully enlisted in the cause will always remain alive in the hearts of those who had the fortune to know him and enjoy his friendship.
On this sad occasion, the Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party expresses its heartfelt condolences to the widow, daughter, relatives and friends of the deceased.
