Obituary: The Blessed Comrade Aram Sepetjian Is No More

The Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party announces with deep sorrow the death of the intellectual and esteemed faithful member of the Lebanese region, Aram Sepetjian, which occurred on 5 October 2020, in Beirut. The Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party announces with deep sorrow the death of the intellectual and esteemed faithful member of the Lebanese region, Aram Sepetjian, which occurred on 5 October 2020, in Beirut.

Publicist and prose writer Sepetjian, throughout his fruitful national career, took an active part in the national and communal life of the Lebanese-Armenian community, particularly in the fields of public discourse and the press.

Our late colleague, distinguished by the character of a cultured and exemplary Armenian, in addition to his sacred party activities, served the Armenian letter and literature for many years, contributing to the literary press of the diaspora and the homeland through his public writings and prose works.

Since 1956, he was a permanent contributor and then one of the responsible editors of the literary monthly “Shirak.” He was also a member of the editorial board of the periodical “Shirak.” He contributed to the daily “Paykar” under the pen name “Armen Hrach.” He was a member of the editorial board of the periodical “Kamar” and editor-in-chief of the AGBU–AYA’s monthly “Khospnak.” He published more than a dozen literary works. He was a member of the Writers’ Union of Armenia.

As the owner of the SIPAN publishing house, he also carried out an active literary-publishing activity.

On this sad occasion, the Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party expresses its heartfelt condolences to the widow, children, relatives and friends of the deceased.

May his soul rest in eternal light and peace.
