By the decision of Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, the “Erebuni-Yerevan” celebrations scheduled for October will not take place. This was announced by Yerevan Municipality press spokesperson Hagop Karapetyan.
The funds allocated for “Erebuni-Yerevan” in the 2021 budget of the city of Yerevan will be directed to supporting the “100 Homes in Artsakh” program, as well as to programs for the development of Yerevan’s cultural institutions.
Specifically, funds will be allocated to programs for the modernization of the “Erebuni” Historical-Archaeological Reserve-Museum and the Museum of the History of Yerevan, which is marking its 90th anniversary.
The “100 Homes in Artsakh” project is a joint program of the Public Television Company and the “Live in Artsakh” foundation. The goal is to provide housing for Artsakh residents displaced by the war and who have lost their homes. The homes will be built near the village of Dahrav in Askeran, located 16 km from Stepanakert. Construction work has already begun since June.
