Officer Gurgen Alaverdyan became disoriented and lost due to severely unfavorable weather conditions while checking a combat position. This was stated on her Facebook page by Shushan Stepanyan, press secretary of the RA Minister of Defense.
“On 22 August of this year, at around 19:30, while checking a combat position, Officer Gurgen Alaverdyan became disoriented and lost due to severely unfavorable weather conditions. Search operations are underway.
The statement issued by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense regarding an attempted infiltration is disinformation, in which the lost individual is presented as an infiltrator,” she wrote.
