The Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, in the name of its worldwide membership and broad circle of supporters, greets with unalloyed satisfaction the recognition by the United States Senate of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by Turkey.
Indeed, the unanimous adoption of Resolution 150 is not only a historically affirming event, but also a weighty step toward the restoration of truth and justice.
About a month and a half after the landmark adoption of Resolution 296 by the United States House of Representatives, the commendable efforts of Senators Robert Menendez and Ted Cruz led to the unanimous acceptance of the proposed resolution, this time by the Senate.
It is also noteworthy that both of these successes were recorded despite the explicit opposition of the White House.
Thus, the United States joins the ranks of 28 other states that have officially recognized the Armenian Genocide, including Germany, the Russian Federation, and France.
Highly and unconditionally commendable are all Armenian-American organizations, unions, and individuals, thanks to whose long-standing, sustained, and tireless efforts this brilliant achievement was attained.
It can be declared without hesitation that once again the undeniable TIMELESSNESS of our national claim is reaffirmed.
