Gor Yeranyan, the candidate succeeding former MP Armen Pambukhchyan, is to assume the mandate. He said this in an interview with NEWS.am.
“My profession and knowledge of languages suggest that regional issues will be at the centre of my attention,” he told News.am.
Gor Yeranyan is 30 years old, originally from the village of Darakert in the Ararat Province, and is non-partisan.
Gor Yeranyan is a historian, studied in the Department of History at Yerevan State University, and defended his doctoral dissertation at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences.
He is a research fellow at the Institute of History and also works at the Mashtots Matenadaran and “CivilNet”.
From 2017 to 2020 he taught in the Department of History at Yerevan State University.
Let us recall that Armen Pambukhchyan was stripped of his parliamentary mandate at his own request. He is to move to the executive branch, taking up the post of Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations.
