“The situation in the South Caucasus is in a rather tense state, and Armenia is making efforts to manage it as best as possible,” Prime Minister Pashinyan said today, October 21, while receiving Javier Colomina Piriz, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus.
There are problems in the region awaiting solutions, according to the official statement, Pashinyan said, adding that the comprehensive settlement of the Karabakh conflict is a priority for Armenia.
Emphasising the opening of regional communications, Pashinyan at the same time stressed that the issue of the return of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan directly affects the regional situation, and expressed hope that a solution may be reached in this regard in the near future.
