In an interview with The Jerusalem Post, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, commenting on Israel’s offer to send humanitarian aid to Armenia, urged that the aid be redirected to “terrorists and mercenaries,” whom, according to the Prime Minister, Israel arms.
After Armenia recalled its ambassador from Israel, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin called the Armenian Prime Minister and offered to provide humanitarian aid.
“Humanitarian aid from a country that sells weapons to terrorists and that is used against peaceful civilian society? I suggest Israel provide that aid to mercenaries and terrorists as a logical continuation of its activities,” the Armenian Prime Minister said.
He added that Turkey and Israel are in fact on the same side, and the Jewish state may soon feel “Ankara’s imperial aspirations” on itself.
According to the Armenian Prime Minister, Israel is arming a state that aims to carry out genocide of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh. He described Israel as a belligerent party, since Israeli drones are actively used in Karabakh.
“Israel should ask itself whether it is not de facto fighting alongside mercenaries in Nagorno-Karabakh. Is this a suitable position for itself? If so, then God be with them. But I believe there will be clear consequences, and your state will be forced to face those consequences,” the Armenian Prime Minister concluded.
