Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has highlighted the visit of Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to Russia, noting that his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin will take place at noon. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“A meeting with Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Pashinyan, who is in Moscow on a working visit, is planned for noon. This will be a conversation with Pashinyan, and afterwards they — the president and the prime minister — will continue their conversation in the format of a working lunch,” Peskov said.
“This is important and is, in essence, the first foreign visit that Pashinyan is making after winning the parliamentary elections, a fairly confident, convincing victory,” he added.
No signing of documents is planned after the Putin-Pashinyan negotiations; they will discuss the situation in Karabakh, the deployment of Russian troops, and bilateral relations. “No, this is information that does not correspond to reality. Of course, Karabakh will be discussed, and the issue of the Russian military deployed there will be discussed, as well as bilateral relations in general, but no signing of documents is planned,” Peskov said, responding to a question about whether it was anticipated that an agreement on sending another contingent of Russian peacekeepers would be signed after the meeting.
