During a recent telephone conversation, the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of the Russian Federation discussed, among other matters, the Armenian Prime Minister’s statement regarding Armenia’s use of the Iskander system. The Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Mane Gevorgyan, clarified this issue in an interview with Armenpress.
“The Prime Minister of Armenia, as a result of comparing the available facts and data, has come to the conclusion that he was not correctly briefed on this situation. Moreover, the Prime Minister’s statement has no connection whatsoever with the content and quality of Armenian-Russian allied relations in the sphere of military and military-industrial cooperation. There is also no doubt that Russian weapons are among the best in the world. The Republic of Armenia continues its close cooperation with the Russian Federation in the spheres of the military industry and high technologies, and intends to take steps to deepen it further,” Gevorgyan stated.
