The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia, Sergey Kopirkin, has stated that the issue of Armenians taken prisoner as a result of the Artsakh war is being personally handled by Russian President Vladimir Putin. As reported by Armenpress, Kopirkin spoke about this during a conversation with journalists.
The ambassador noted that the return of Armenian prisoners is among the priorities of the 9 November trilateral statement. “I am not exaggerating; this is an issue that is personally handled by our country’s president, the ministers of foreign affairs and defence. The resolution of this issue may not come as quickly as we expect, but believe me, everything possible will be done, and I am confident that it will definitely be resolved,” said the Russian ambassador.
