The President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan, on the occasion of his birthday. The message reads, in particular:

Please accept my sincere congratulations and warm wishes on the occasion of your birthday.
For more than a quarter of a century, Artsakh has been writing its history of struggle, freedom and sovereignty, creating and strengthening state governance and democratic institutions. More than a decade of that period has been your tenure as President of Artsakh, during which the Armenian Republic of Artsakh has continued to fully establish and develop itself in a historic segment of the Armenian world.
You have also placed your experience, authority and skills in resolving difficult situations with dignity at the service of Artsakh in the years before that, both during the Artsakh liberation struggle and war and while holding various state offices. And serving two terms as President of Artsakh by the people’s vote of confidence surely testifies that you have achieved success.
May that success always accompany you in all state and national undertakings and in the course of your personal life.
