Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross, Jaganath Chapagain.
The Prime Minister underscored the importance of continued active cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross in addressing a number of humanitarian and human rights issues. Nikol Pashinyan, in particular, highlighted the fact of the humanitarian problems created there as a result of the 44-day war unleashed against Artsakh and the need for the active involvement of the International Federation of Red Cross in addressing them. The head of government added that to this day, Azerbaijan continues to fail to fulfill the commitments undertaken by the statement of 9 November 2020, and stressed the importance of an adequate response from international structures in ensuring the return of Armenian prisoners of war, hostages and other detained persons.
The Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross, Jaganath Chapagain, noted that an effective and close cooperation has been established with the government of the Republic of Armenia and added that the Federation will actively continue its efforts to contribute to the resolution of various humanitarian issues.
Issues related to the humanitarian programs implemented by the Federation in our country were also discussed at the meeting.
