According to Armenpress, the Armenian Embassy in the US reports that Ambassador Makunts and Congressman Kim discussed the situation created after the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Ambassador emphasized that the belligerent and destructive statements of Azerbaijan’s leadership undermine efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region.

The Ambassador stressed the importance of a comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship. Ambassador Makunts underscored the necessity of the unconditional repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war held by Azerbaijan.
