The General Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit on December 2 seeking the confiscation of assets of illicit origin belonging to Armenia’s former police chief Vladimir Gasparyan and his family members. This was reported by the “Datalex” information platform.
Involved in this case are Vladimir Gasparyan, his wife Susanna Gasparyan, his mother Angela Gasparyan, his son and daughter Angelina and Vladimir Gasparyan, and his mother-in-law Heghush Galstyan. The lawsuit was first submitted on November 19, then returned due to deficiencies, and resubmitted to the court on December 2. The plaintiff is Tigran Davtyan, prosecutor of the office for the confiscation of assets of illicit origin. In June, the prosecutor’s office conducted a study related to the assets of Gasparyan and his family, then invited them to provide explanations. On July 1, it became known that a seizure had been placed on property belonging to Gasparyan.
Gor Abrahamyan, advisor to the General Prosecutor, said in an interview with “Lurer” that the court has already accepted the case for proceedings. The prosecutor’s office, meanwhile, has not yet detailed which assets belonging to Gasparyan and his family are subject to confiscation in this case. “The prosecutor’s office does not yet provide information regarding these persons’ assets; we may publish it in the near future,” said Abrahamyan.
Prior to the confiscation of the Gasparyans’ assets, the General Prosecutor’s Office had filed another lawsuit in court to confiscate approximately 485 million drams’ worth of assets from former National Security Service officer, Colonel Serob Harutyunyan and his family, including an apartment on Northern Avenue, parking spaces and vehicles.
