“On November 10, some Azerbaijani media outlets had spread information that a brawl had allegedly taken place between Armenian and Azerbaijani servicemen in the area of Sev Lake in the Syunik Province of the RA, and that a group of Armenian servicemen had been surrounded.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense later joined this disinformation, declaring that 60 Armenian servicemen had been surrounded and that they had been released only through the mediation of the Russian side. The statement of the Azerbaijani defense agency is blatant disinformation. Moreover, following the actions of Armenian Armed Forces units in response to the Azerbaijani side’s provocation in the area of Sev Lake, it was the Azerbaijani Armed Forces that turned to the Russian side with a request to resolve the situation, and it was precisely thanks to the active work of the Russian side that the situation was stabilized.
The RA Ministry of Defense reiterates that the situation in the area of Sev Lake is under the full control of the RA Armed Forces,” the statement said.
