In the Davit Bek settlement of Syunik Province, a total of 60 houses were damaged as a result of enemy shelling. Unfortunately, there were also human losses in the village: three dead and seven wounded.
Nunufar Arzumanyan’s family, whose house was significantly damaged by the shelling, is repairing the damage with their own efforts, replacing the broken windows. To this day, they have received no assistance from the state.
Family members told NEWS.am in an interview that during the days of the war, however dangerous it was, they did not leave the village, and today too, although the enemy has approached them and the village has become a border settlement, it makes no difference; they do not intend to leave.
“We will live in fear, but we will not abandon it. It is my birthplace, my hearth, and we will always stay here. I have three children, and all three are in this village,” said Nunufar Arzumanyan.
The villagers’ main livelihood was livestock breeding and farming, which is now becoming impossible, considering that they would become targets of the enemy; moreover, the village’s main pastures and cultivated areas have come under Azerbaijani control.
Hundreds of livestock have either died as a result of the shelling or have been left in areas that have come under enemy control.
Many of the remaining livestock have already been sold at half price, and others have been put up for sale, since, in any case, there are no longer any pastures.
Let us recall that during the days of the war, the village of Davit Bek was shelled several times.
