A seizure has been placed on the property of former police chief Vladimir Gasparyan as a result of an investigation conducted within the framework of the law “On Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin.” He has been summoned to the prosecutor’s office.
This was reported to HZh by Gor Abrahamyan, advisor to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia.
By court decision, a preliminary injunction has been applied to Vladimir Gasparyan’s property.
Asked how much of the property has been seized, Abrahamyan did not answer, explaining that they do not currently see the expediency of providing information of a personal nature.
The advisor to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia noted that at present, 3 of the ongoing investigations into the confiscation of property of illicit origin have been completed.
Let us recall that Parliament adopted the draft law “On Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin” last year, with a vote of 99 in favor, 1 against, and 15 abstentions.
The draft grants the state the right to confiscate property of illicit origin if the court determines that its market value at the time of filing the claim exceeds fifty million drams.
