On February 19, serviceman, private Hayk Arami Petrosyan received a fatal gunshot wound under still-unclarified circumstances at the guard post of military unit N of the RA Ministry of Defence. This was reported by the RA Ministry of Defence.
An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia shares the heavy grief of the loss and expresses solidarity with the serviceman’s family members, relatives and comrades-in-arms.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated within the Investigative Committee regarding the incident. According to preliminary data, the serviceman died as a result of a single gunshot wound to the head from the rifle assigned to him.
