“Through the Sochi trilateral statement, the parties reaffirm their commitment to the consistent and unconditional implementation of all provisions of the trilateral statement of 9 November 2020.” This was stated by the RA MFA press secretary, Vahan Hunanyan, in response to media questions regarding the trilateral statement of 26 November in Sochi.

“This also concerns the return of prisoners of war, hostages and other detained persons, as stipulated by point 8 of the 9 November statement, which has not yet been fulfilled by Azerbaijan, as well as other unfulfilled obligations under other points. The 26 November Sochi statement once again reaffirms the provision on the unblocking of all transport routes and economic ties in the region, as recorded in the 11 January statement, and once again refutes the propagandistic theses being spread about a ‘corridor’ or corridor logic,” the MFA press secretary stated.

Vahan Hunanyan also emphasised that, according to the statement, an agreement was reached to take steps aimed at raising the level of stability and security on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. And the primary and more important step in that direction should be the implementation of steps aimed at reducing tension.

“We are also convinced that the full implementation of the provisions of the trilateral statements will contribute to the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship,” added Vahan Hunanyan.
