A Certificate of Honor Was Presented to Hagop Nazaryan
On March 1, 2020, at the Pasadena ARS Center, in the presence of a broad cross-section of the community’s party members, public figures, and supporters, a solidarity gathering took place in support of the ADL’s candidate in the upcoming Artsakh elections, Masis Mayilian, as presidential candidate, and the “New Artsakh” alliance, as parliamentary deputies, of which the following are members: the Artsakh Ramgavar Azadagan Party, “Identity and Unity,” and “Tomorrow’s Artsakh” organizations.
On behalf of the ADL’s Western America Regional body, the opening remarks were delivered by the Regional Chair and Secretary of the Central Board, Dr. Raffi Balian, noting that the ADL today stands before an unprecedented historical phenomenon, as it participates in the free and independent Artsakh’s presidential and parliamentary elections, which will undoubtedly bring positive changes to the socio-economic life of the people of Artsakh, with a vision of a more prosperous Artsakh.
Then, ADL Central Board member Ara Aharonian delivered remarks, presenting the history of the ADL’s founding in Artsakh and its various stages, as well as the humanitarian, party, sports-cultural, and agricultural programs implemented and to be implemented in the future under the ADL’s auspices in Stepanakert, Kelbajar, and other regions.
ADL Central Board member Panik Keshishian also delivered remarks, deeming important the spread of the liberal-Ramgavar ideology through the ADL in Artsakh and Armenia, with the creation of a healthier state political system, and the unconditional support of the Diaspora’s ADL for the realization of those goals.
Kevork Haleblean also delivered remarks, presenting details about the current processes in the Artsakh elections, addressing why the ADL supports Masis Mayilian’s candidacy and the “New Artsakh” alliance, particularly noting that Mayilian’s main goal is changes within the country’s state, economic, and social systems, citing Mayilian’s rich diplomatic and statesmanlike past, and his clean record, in that he has no connection with phenomena of corruption, controversy, or illicit enrichment.
At the end of the meeting, in recognition of his service to the Artsakh community, his contributions aimed at the development of agriculture, and his support for the construction of a playground for the children of the Shahumyan region, on behalf of the ADL’s Artsakh Republican Board, the title of Honorary Member of the Artsakh ADL was conferred upon the ADL’s long-time veteran, Hagop Nazaryan.
